These are the items from the News section of the old Modeller’s Workshop site. The picture is from the store I had on Sherbrooke Street in 2006 and 2007.

The Modeller’s Workshop is moving to a new website at www.modellers-workshop.com. This site includes a Classified Ads section where modellers can buy and sell models in a setting that is designed just for them.

October 1st, 2008.
The Modeller’s Workshop is back to its roots, building a wonderful Pocher Bugatti K76 for a new client in the United States. As usual, this will be the best model ever, with extra bits from various after-market parts builders and all Pocher parts adjusted, painted and replaced with scratch-built parts where necessary.

We close the store. After a fire on February 20th, caused by a Lithium-Polymer battery explosion, we went through a great effort to rebuild the store even better than it was before. Unfortunately, I ran out of energy, not to mention money, and decided to pull the plug on the store. The website continues to function and we are getting more modelling business than we’ve ever had. We are also getting much more involved in selling Sherline Tools and teaching machine code for CNC table-top machining so the company continues to advance.

The Modeller’s Workshop Grows Up. We sign a lease at 5450 Sherbrooke Street West, in Montreal, just next to the Decarie Expressway. The new store has a workshop in the middle, in the form of a large donut. The professional builders are on the inside of the donut and clients can rent table space on the outside of the donut, where they can build their own models and take some tips from the builders across the table. Models for sale are on the walls of the store, all around the workshop.

Rick Shousha runs in a municipal election in the Town of Mount Royal, Quebec, as part of the Renaissance Mont-Royal team, and gets 25% of the vote. It was an exhilarating six-week campaign run on a platform of ideas and change.

We sold our first Pocher kit to a client in China. This makes twenty countries where we have sent our goodies. Life is good.

It was a bit complicated and we lost a few hairs in the process but we finally succeeded in delivering a a large Ferrari kit to South Africa, the nineteenth country to which we have sent our products. Thanks for the order, Eugene. Hopefully, we can do much more business in that country now that we’ve figured out the shipping details.

We have added Norway, country number eighteen, to the list of countries where we have clients.

March 10th, 2005
We have lent a tool to a Pocher friend in the Netherlands, the sixteenth country to which we are exporting. The internet has made it that it seemed like we were lending a cup of sugar to a neighbour.

February 20th, 2005
We have sent our first kit to Taiwan, the fifteenth country to which we export.

Another happy client receives one of our models. Click the Gallery button and have a look at the black and white Bugatti. It left from our cold driveway in Montreal and arrived in sunny California two days later.

We sold our first item on E-Bay, a Bugatti engine kit. We now have secure payment available for all our clients on our website as well as through E-Bay.
