The Viking Ship is a scale model with plenty of history. Who has not been astonished when seeing these sculptural ships in museums or movies and realizing that these first Europeans literally rowed across the Atlantic to reach America several hundred years before Christopher Columbus!

For Artesania Latina, the Viking ship model also has its history because in 1995 it was the first model we launched in our acclaimed 19000 series of kits. Today, more than 25 years later, we present a completely redesigned kit. Designed entirely on 3D, the new kit includes basswood laser-cut parts. There are two layers of planks, one in birch, and one in sapele. The kit also includes wood and metal decorations (like the two dragon heads) that give a touch of distinction to the model. We’ve also included a stand and a nameplate for the new Viking kit, and a tradition with this company, a beautiful pre sewn color sail, ready to be fixed to the mast.

The new Viking kit includes a DVD with complete step-by-step colour instructions. Please note that there are no printed instructions. This may seem like a mistake but it is much more pleasant to zoom in onto photographs and specific steps on a screen than to try and decipher a blotted picture on paper.

In addition, we have included videos tutorials where we show different techniques and tricks of modeling that can not be taught in a printed version.
