ARTESANIA LATINA 22800 CUTTY SARK TEA CLIPPER 1/84 scale wood ship kit!

The Artesania Latina Tea Clipper Cutty Sark wooden ship model accurately recreates the real life vessel with a high level of detail.

The clipper Cutty Sark is one built in 1869 in Dumbarton (Scotland). She was assigned to the then very lucrative tea trade competitive, with a race around the world to be the first to unite China each year with London.

With the opening of the Suez Canal, the clippers were removed from this trade in favor of the first ships to steam. The Cutty Sark was then allocated to the wool trade in Australia and subsequently sold in 1895 to a Portuguese company.

After more than fifty years wandering through Europe and South Africa, was finally bought by the British in 1954, restored and displayed to the public in a dry dock, specially designed in Greenwich (London). The exceptional elegance of her line, her incredible speed and the richness of its details have become the Cutty Sark in a universal legend.
