Corel’s reconstruction is based on plans attributed to Frederik H. Chapman, the world’s most respected authority on naval architecture. Construction is double plank-on-bulkhead, with all wooden parts laser-cut. First planking is limewood, the second fine African walnut. Deck planking is tanganyka, and wooden fitting include beech, walnut and mahogany. Authentically detailed transom decorations and figurehead are cast in gilded metal, and there’s lots of brass- bright for mast foot, eyebolts, bell and rings, and blackened brass for anchors, 16 swivel guns and 12 cannon. Printed cloth flags, canvas sail material and rigging are also supplied. Building is easy with detailed instructions and eight sheets of plans.
